THE FAMILY FARM

The Carey family have been farming in coastal Taranaki for over 120 years. In 2012 they founded Green Meadows Beef, with the dream to take their grass-fed Angus beef straight into the mouths of families New Zealand wide. The Carey family 420 acre (170 ha) farm is located south of Opunake in Coastal Taranaki, a stone’s throw from the popular Green Meadows surf break. Underneath Mount Taranaki and beside the Taungatara Stream, this is the perfect environment for the animals to eat grass pasture and grow naturally. The animals graze on lush green grass grown in rich volcanic soil, that's been lightly salted from the nearby Tasman Sea, giving our Green Meadows Beef meat outstanding flavour, colour and texture. The steers live a happy life out in the open eating only grass and grass supplements (silage and hay) grown on the Carey farm.

OUR PRODUCTS AND SERVICES

Our products are produced in our manufacturing facility in New Plymouth. Our team of butchers, packers and administration staff ensure all Green Meadows Beef products are expertly cut, packaged and delivered to customers across the world. We also contract manufacture and pack for other well-known NZ brands. At our manufacturing facility, you can also find 'The Butchery' where customers can pop in and check out our fridge, which is always bursting full of premium meat cuts, and more.

EXPORT

We currently export to Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong and the South Pacific and are constantly innovating, using new machinery and technology and finding new products to introduce to the market, both within New Zealand and overseas. We are proud of what we have achieved to date, putting our coastal Taranaki family farm on the map!
