A one-kilometre walk leads guests to the Hut which sits at almost 600 metres above sea level. Here, the landscape offers striking contrasts - dramatic, fast-moving weather and vast views across the North Taranaki Bight, the Central Plateau and Taranaki Maunga. Unwind and reconnect with nature among the sounds of the riroriro (grey warbler), tūī and even the kārearea (NZ falcon), then fall asleep to the haunting call of the ruru and the whisper of ancient rimu.
