Mangati

• A mown and sealed pathway follows the Mangati Stream as it winds from Bell Block Beach, through a residential area to Parklands Avenue and connects through to De Havilland Drive.

Bell Block Beach

• This beach provides access for water-based activities, including boat launching.
• Toilets are available, dogs are permitted on this pathway and there is free parking.

Hickford Park

• The coastal portion of the reserve is made up of expansive vegetative dunes, which increase in size and height to the east.
• The undeveloped mown pathway that runs along the foreshore provides access to the rocky beach.
• See the spring-fed wetlands at Waipu Lagoons and the artificial wetlands at the former oxidation ponds, both of which provide habitat for several bird and animal species.
• This pathway connects with the Coastal Walkway, where you can either head left towards Te Rewa Rewa Bridge, or right towards Hickford Park and the Taranaki Cycle Park and BMX track.

Te Rewa Rewa

• Ngāti Tawhirikura hapū have mana whenua over this historic site and surrounding area.
• In 2007, a partnership for Te Rewa Rewa between New Plymouth District Council and Tawhirikura Hapū Trust was signed, making way for the development and construction of the award-winning Te Rewa Rewa Bridge. The distinctive arched 70-metre footbridge over the Waiwakaiho River was officially opening in June 2010.
