š Port Taranakiās marine team were quick to respond to a potentially dangerous situation this afternoon.
A fishing vessel experienced a mechanical problem approximately 800m off the Lee Breakwater, which left it disabled and drifting towards Kawaroa in moderate wind and swell conditions.
Tug Tuakana and launch Mikotahi were mobilised and dashed to the vesselās aid, connecting a tow rope and pulling it clear of shallow water nearby.
The vessel was brought back to port and berthed on the Main Breakwater for assessment.
