A serious two-car crash at Sentry Hill shut down SH3 east of New Plymouth this afternoon — the road has since reopened.

Update 7:05pm: SH3 has fully reopened east of New Plymouth.

🚨🚓 Emergency services were called to the scene of a serious two-car crash on SH3 near Sentry Hill at 5:05pm. Initial reports suggest there have been serious injuries. The road is closed just east of the SH3/SH3A intersection, with diversions in place. NZTA and police advise motorists to avoid the area if possible.
