2026 EWRB Approved Practising Licence Renewal Course
Looking to renew your EWRB Practising Licence? This hands-on, industry-focused course is designed specifically for licensed electrical practitioners seeking a practical, relevant, and engaging renewal option.
Delivered by Registered Electrical Inspector Glen McDonald, the course combines dynamic multimedia presentations, current industry updates, and practical testing exercises. The focus is on genuine skill refreshment and regulatory confidence — not just meeting minimum requirements.
Please note: This course is not suitable for Lines Mechanics.
Venue & Delivery
This year, courses will be delivered at the Wood Group’s Emergency Response Training Centre (ERTC), 150 De Havilland Drive, Bell Block, New Plymouth.
The Basic First Aid and CPR Level 2 refresher will be delivered by a trained and certified First Aid trainer from Wood Group.
Course Outcomes
Successful completion of this course — including the theory assessment, practical assessment, and Basic First Aid & CPR Level 2 refresher — will provide eligibility to renew or obtain your EWRB Practising Licence, subject to EWRB requirements.

What to Bring
Personal test equipment, including:
A multimeter (for voltage testing)
An installation tester capable of testing Earth Fault Loop Impedance and RCDs
Enclosed footwear (required for practical activities)
A copy of the current electrical standards, either hard copy or digital
Reminder: Electrical standards are accessible free via your EWRB Portal.
Wi-Fi is available on-site for digital access.

All attendees must log in to the EWRB Portal and complete the required E-Learning Modules
Attendees must familiarise themselves with their Limits of Work
The Course Resource Book will be emailed to participants prior to the course date
