The annual Govett-Brewster Foundation Gala is a highlight of the regional art events calendar. Over recent years, these special events have built a reputation for their unique fusion of art, entertainment, and spectacular food and drink, hosted in the Gallery as both a celebration and a fundraiser. This year's Gala will be no exception! 

For 2026 we present WILD FARE - A Forest Feast.

Spectacularly unfolding amidst Simon Ingram’s artwork Vibrating World: Rotokare – art, nature, sound and cuisine come together in a unique, rich, sensory evening.

The evening will feature five local chefs bringing their own creativity and flavour to one course each in a degustation celebrating the region’s finest ingredients and the stories behind them.

Hear from keynote speaker, one of Aotearoa’s most recognisable voices for nature, conservationist Nicola Toki. Deeply passionate about connecting people with the natural world through storytelling in myriad ways, Nicola has gained fame as the host of RNZ's popular Critter of the Week and TVNZ's Endangered Species Aotearoa.

Nicola will draw a connection between Simon Ingram’s Vibrating World: Rotokare Forest and the ways that art can help communicate important messages about the world around us, making conservation vivid, critical, and impossible to ignore.
