Taranaki Sustainable Trails connects people and inspires a lighter footprint on the land. Across more than 30 properties and 40 events over 17 days, discover local examples, practical knowledge and real-world solutions for gardening, building, farming and living more sustainably.
The Trails supports people, communities and industry to become increasingly environmentally conscious in how we live—from the food we grow and eat to the buildings we live and work in. Educational, affordable and accessible, the programme offers opportunities to learn from local experts and practitioners through hands-on workshops, tours and talks.
Events include healthy living soils, fruit tree care, seed saving, growing kai with the maramataka, rongoā Māori, solar energy, organic farming and the science of composting. Together, these experiences provide practical skills, fresh ideas and inspiration for creating a more sustainable future.
