Manganui Ski Area is accessed from Upper Pembroke Road, passing by Ngāti Ruanui Stratford Mountain House and on to the Plateau Carpark.
From the carpark, take a 30-minute family-friendly walk which takes in the 100-metre long Manganui Gorge Suspension Bridge, opened in May 2024, which sits 50-metres high, and features stunning designs by Ngāti Ruanui iwi.
This is a great family walk that can be done year-round even when the ski field isn’t open, and makes up part of the Taranaki Crossing.
There is a flying fox lift just before the Manganui Gorge Bridge to take your equipment over to the ski field for you.
Manganui Ski Area has three rope tows and a T-bar covering a beginner-intermediate terrain of 59ha catering to all abilities and self-catering accommodation is available at The Manganui Lodge.
Visit the website to check whether the field is open as well as the conditions for the walk to the ski area.
