A homicide investigation is underway after the death of a man in New Plymouth last night. Emergency services were called to St Aubyn Street shortly before 7pm following a report of an altercation. On arrival, they found a man with critical injuries. CPR was performed, but he died at the scene.
Two people were arrested following the incident. A 44-year-old man has been charged with murder and is due to appear today in the New Plymouth District Court. The second person was released without charge.
