Don't let a rainy day ruin your Taranaki trip. Here's a heap of awesome indoor activities to keep you entertained.

Look, it rains in Taranaki—that’s just a fact of life around the mountain and why everything is so incredibly green! But a wet day doesn't mean you're stuck sitting inside your accommodation staring at the wall.

We've got an absolute brilliant line-up of indoor spots, from world-class art galleries to fascinating museums. Here's how to dodge the showers and still have an epic day out.

Govett-Brewster Art Gallery & Len Lye Centre

You literally can't miss it—it's the massive wavy mirrored building in the middle of New Plymouth. Inside, you'll find contemporary art and the insanely cool kinetic sculptures of Len Lye. The sculptures move, crash, and whirr—it’s mesmerizing stuff and perfect for killing a couple of rainy hours.
