Mark and Odette are facing the fight of their lives, and their family friend has setup a Givealittle page to help support them.
Mark has been battling Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis, a severe and progressive lung disease. Recently, his condition has reached a critical point, and he has just been placed on the urgent active list for a double lung transplant. While this news brings an incredible wave of hope, it also marks the beginning of a massive, stressful journey.
When the call comes, Mark and Odette will need to drop everything and head straight to Auckland for the major surgery and the long recovery period that follows.
Odette is currently the sole income earner for the household. Because she is self-employed, if she is not working, she doesn't get paid. To be by Mark's side in Auckland, providing the vital care and support he needs, Odette will have to press pause on her business. While their world is about to be put on hold, everyday bills are not. The costs at home keep coming, alongside the extra expenses of living away from home.
Mark and Odette are always the first to support others, but right now, they need their community to rally around them.
Any contribution, big or small, will give Odette the freedom to focus entirely on Mark's healing without the crushing weight of financial stress. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this with your friends and whānau.
