Public ConsultationCouncil New Plymouth
The New Plymouth District Council is reviewing CBD parking, including hourly rates and mobility spaces, and is calling for public feedback before May 29.

NPDC is reviewing parking in the CBD, and wants your feedback on proposed changes to:

🚘 hourly parking rates
🚘 reducing the paid parking area
🚘 SuperGold parking
🚘 mobility parking
🚘 loading zones
🚘 motorhome spaces
🚘 short-term time restricted parking
🚘 should the Downtown carpark building be leased parking only?

“The CBD is where business, retail and leisure sit side-by-side, and we want to enhance that and energise it by getting the access right,” says NPDC Transportation Operations Lead John Eagles.

“We’ve had various requests for changes recently but to get the best results for the community, we’ve decided to review CBD parking as a whole rather than tackle the issues piecemeal.”

All feedback will be considered by elected members prior to making any changes.

The official survey is linked below and closes Friday 29 May at 5pm.

After the survey, let us know what you think of the proposed changes in the comments below 👇
