Family and supporters of Dan Nganeko gathered outside New Plymouth District Court to advocate for stronger sentencing laws following a manslaughter case.

Family and supporters of Dan Nganeko held a peaceful protest outside New Plymouth District Court on 7 October 2025, calling for stronger sentencing laws for one-punch assaults.

The gathering took place as Daytona Thompson was sentenced to four years and two months’ imprisonment for manslaughter.
